A back story to the origins of this bag:

We were asked to produce this bag by a local cattle rancher.    
His requirement was for an all purpose day bag with a wide shoulder strap that could comfortably carry the miscellaneous odds and sods that working cattlemen require.

A Bag they would take on either a fortnightly trip to town, or out on ranch patrol's: Will stow your Cell Phone, veterinary necessities, notepad, pen, bank bag, revolver, palm top, leather man, binoculars, GPS, lunch, sweater, etc.
